Tired Of Waiting For You

I'm so tired
Tired of waiting
Tired of waiting for you

I'm so tired
Tired of waiting
Tired of waiting for you

I was a lonely soul
I had nobody till I met you
But you keep-a me waiting
All of the time
What can I do?

It's your life
And you can do what you want
Do what you like
But please don't keep-a me waiting
Please don't keep-a me waiting

'Cause I'm so tired
Tired of waiting
Tired of waiting for you

So tired
Tired of waiting
Tired of waiting for you

  1. Great tune, great statue, great pics.

Is it just me, or is the guitar part behind the chorus in Tired of Waiting the same as the guitar part behind the chorus in Where Have All the Good Times Gone, another favorite?

  2. Guess you are ready for Spring.

  3. I am so ready for Spring, yes. I'll compare the two guitar parts later; you're undoubtedly right. TOWFY was recorded, as you may know, ahead of All Day And All Of The Night, but was held back because Pye Records wanted a follow-up song to You Really Got Me that was sort of sound-alike. I'd say they and the public got their collective musical moneys-worth. A beautiful live version of the song is found on the To The Bone record also. I love the song and the sculpture, which Bernini finished when he was only 23, about 2 1/2 years older than Ray Davies when he wrote and recorded TOWFY. Hope it's warmer and less windy today than yesterday. The Persephone myth is, of course, unsettling on a number of levels. I wonder whether she would have been happier with Hermes. Curtis

  4. Staggered by Bernini's accomplishment at that age.

ADAAOTN was first 45 I ever bought (together with, admittedly, Downtown and Let's Lock the Door (and Throw Away the Key) and This Diamond Ring. I should say we, because back in 65 my brother and I did these things together.

  5. The Hit Parade used to be so much more fun, no? I spent some time today (after reading this on the drive back to PA) refreshing my knowledge about Gary Lewis's career. (Interesting, as you can imagine. I'd forgotten the number of hits he had. And I had no idea he lives in rural upstate New York.) Good choice for a first 45. I love Downtown. The history of recording that song is fascinating. Curtis
