JANE ROBERTS DREAM PROJECT

4 comments:

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed Jane's Dream Project, and it prompted me to think about my own thoughts about dreams and how mystifying and wondrous they are. In addition, I was smiling as I listened to her beautiful voice. Nell

    1. I'll pass along your kind words. Funny the assignments school kids have these days. What delighted me about this were (in equal priority) the script, the images she chose, the editing/synchronization, and her recitation. On the one hand, she was working with very rudimentary (technical) quality "found" materials. On the other, I think she made sensitive and sophisticated use of them. And I think her voice recorded unbelievably well. I hope her teacher "gets" it. I'm advised that some of the other students approached this somewhat open-ended assignment by concentrating on their aspirations rather than the dream-state itself. Did you see Inception, by the way? It's absolutely wonderful. Curtis

  2. I don't have any experience with filming or editing, but I was quite impressed with the quality of her production. If her teacher doesn't "get" it, it will be the teacher's shortcomings, not Jane's. I haven't seen Inception, but I will. Nell

    1. I really love what Jane did. It made me very happy to see (completely unaware that she was doing it and after the fact) what she accomplished. Inception is a remarkable film, one that most people would need to see (and I think would want to see) at least twice to understand fully. (There's a lot going on there on multiple levels; it's a Chinese puzzle of a movie.) It's very moving and says a lot about dreams and dreaming. Curtis
