SUSAN (2)

"Of course, living the way I do,” she said, “I find I reach more peak experiences in general.  It’s the perfect place, up here.  I’ve come to realize that the mind can achieve anything so long as reality doesn’t get in its way.”

Then she caught her breath suddenly, and I asked what was the matter, and she murmured that she was just listening to the rain.  It was falling harder now.  Was it raining very hard at the beach,  too?  I glanced out of the window and said yes, it was coming down in torrents.  Everything looked blurred and shiny and weeping.

OH! WHAT A FEELING

She is the first one I see and speak to every morning and on most occasions the one I last take leave from at night.

We understand each other perfectly, which is nice.  Everyone needs someone like that in their life and we are never cross with each other.

She sleeps more than she used to (although it’s hard to notice this with a cat, I pay close attention to her because we share an office) and I am also sleepier these days (but not these nights).

When she stretches out to be scratched and stroked, the feeling is extraordinary.

She is often misunderstood.  That is the way it is with geniuses.
