  1. I love these paintings, esp. the first one. They look as if they are not quite sure what they are looking at . . . So beautiful.

  2. Merry Christmas, Nin, to you and your family. Trying to find the right painting was fun this year -- not knowing until I knew. Geertgen tot Sint Jans' work is pretty remarkable. If you were to find a reproduction of the Virgin and Child painting and look at the lower right hand side of the picture, there is a depiction of a medieval bassoon. I mention this because: a) I like the bassoon as an instrument; and b) Jane requested and received her first reed instrument, a saxophone (alto) today. She's progressing on many fronts and it's true that when you see a happy child on Christmas, that's a great feeling. Curtis
