Even Sleeping (Herakleitos 124)

124.

Even sleeping men are doing the world’s business and helping it along.

  1. What a beautiful picture.

The cleverest thing I ever did with money was to buy a landscape by the artist in November 2008, just after the market crashed. I will post an image on facebook. Unlike the one you show here, it's conventional in composition and subject, but he paints the hell out of it anyway.

Hearakleitos gets it right again. Which reminds me: I'm Only Sleeping may be my favorite Beatles song.

  2. Please post it. (And wow.) Yes, this one is a beauty. My daughter, like Herakleitos (and often like I do) speaks in fragments. It's not a bad thing to do. I love I'm Only Sleeping, but I think that period of Beatles music is about my favorite. On the way back to my house earlier, Dr. Robert came on the radio. It was great to hear. Curtis

  3. A beautiful picture and a lovely and profound idea.

I just wish sleep didn't feel quite so exhausting at the moment.

  4. I'm sorry to hear about your unsatisfying sleep which, I'm sorry to say, reminds me of my own. I'm taking various steps to try to rectify things, but I tell myself "it's a process." Really, some of the events of this week provided perspective. They've also been exhausting, which does cause me to sleep longer. Caroline's home and we're hopeful that things will improve from here. Right now, I'm diving into something murky, but the coffee tastes good. Curtis
