I RODE IN
I rode in
through the South gate. Built directly on to the gate is a large
hostelry; there I meant to spend the night. I led my mule into the
stables, which were already almost overcrowded with mounts, but still I did
find a safe corner. Then I went upstairs into one of the loggias, spread out my
blanket and lay down to sleep.
