SPEECHES

Speeches bore me to tears.

Muted,I find myself contemplating other forms of excitement.

  1. Amen, amen, amen.

I have also enjoyed your Kafka posts, and the one about very large amounts of data.

I wish I knew how to make large changes in my life.

    1. I know. I have a couple of ideas, including a recurring one which involves spending an entire day (or two) in bed just being very quiet, but they're difficult to pull off. Was on the Swarthmore campus yesterday. It was very beautiful there and not oppressively hot. Then we went to see Man of Steel, which was irritating. Thanks for what you said about the Kafka posts and the large data post. Caroline worked for a while with Jules Shear, the songwriter who wrote If She Knew What She Wants. That's a fabulous song and The Bangles added a lot to it. The coverage of the president's speech yesterday was very, very odd. A big wind-up and then no folow-through.
